Laser Light Transepithelial Crosslinking
The Clearview Institute is proud to be the first clinic in Canada to introduce Laser Light Transepithelial Crosslinking!
Crosslinking – a treatment to strengthen the cornea – generally requires the removal of the surface layer, which then has to regenerate itself. This delays the healing process and increases the risk of complications.
The novel Laser Light Transepithelial Crosslinking procedure permits the surface layer to remain intact. This dramatically speeds up the recovery process and reduces the risk of complications.
The procedure requires a specialized ‘laser’ delivery system, which precisely titrates, the amount of energy delivered. Laser Light Transepithelial Crosslinking is performed with the state of the technology. This system provides breakthrough discovery that reduces cross-linking time from one-hour to 3 minutes or less.
This initiates molecular cross linking of the corneal collagen to slow down or stop the thinning of the cornea. This exciting new treatment will help to prevent the necessity of a future corneal transplant.
The visual recovery and improvement is several fold greater than with the traditional process.
